Twilight: Where Darkness Begins is a 26-book stand-alone teen horror series published from 1982 to 1987. Each book is a separate story about young people facing supernatural evil. The books were written by different authors, including Bruce Coville, Carl Laymon (also known as Richard Laymon), Imogen Howe, Betsy Haynes, Richie Tankersley Cusick, and Joseph Trainor, and published by Dell Publishing. The series is now out of print. When it first appeared, critics welcomed it; Voice of Youth Advocates called it promising hair-raising adventures for occult fans, and Florida Atlantic University's Fantasy Review noted its similarity to Bantam's Dark Forces series.
