Tustumena Glacier

The Tustumena Glacier is a mountain glacier on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. It starts in the Harding Icefield and flows west for about 20 miles (32 km) until it ends about 5 miles (8 km) before Tustumena Lake. The glacier is retreating as the climate warms. Arctic Lake sits beside the glacier, with its water sometimes flowing under the ice. The lake fills up and drains as the glacier moves, leaving icebergs on the sand. The Alaska ferry M/V Tustumena is named after this glacier.
