Matt Carter (born August 2, 1986) is a retired Canadian football wide receiver from Kelowna, British Columbia. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed about 200 pounds during his playing days. He played high school football at Mount Boucherie and college football for the Acadia Axemen.

Carter was drafted fifth overall in the first round of the 2009 CFL Draft by the BC Lions. He started on their practice roster but asked to be released so he could be closer to his family in Oakville, Ontario due to a medical issue. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed him to their practice squad, and he spent 2009–2011 with the Ticats.

On February 22, 2012, Carter signed with the Edmonton Eskimos, where he played 2012–2013. He then joined the Ottawa Redblacks as a free agent on February 11, 2014, and played two seasons there. He retired from professional football in January 2016, mainly due to concussions.
