Turkey Branch (Tussocky Branch tributary)
Turkey Branch is a short stream in Sussex County, Delaware. It is about 0.9 miles long and is a first-order tributary to Tussocky Branch. The stream rises about 1 mile southeast of Portsville and flows northwest to join Tussocky Branch at Portsville Pond, dropping from about 30 feet above sea level at the source to about 7 feet at the mouth.
The drainage area of Turkey Branch covers roughly 0.41 square miles. The watershed receives about 44.7 inches of precipitation each year and is about 16% forested. Water from Turkey Branch eventually reaches the Chesapeake Bay via the sequence: Tussocky Branch → Broad Creek → Nanticoke River → Chesapeake Bay → Atlantic Ocean. A bridge crosses the stream on Dogwood Lane.
