Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure the Movie: The Snow Princess and the Miraculous Ring!
Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure the Movie: The Snow Princess and the Miraculous Ring! is a 2021 Japanese animated film based on the Pretty Cure series. It’s the second movie for the Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure lineup and is a crossover with HeartCatch PreCure!. The film was directed by Junji Shimizu, written by Yoshimi Narita, and produced by Toei Animation. It opened in Japanese theaters on October 23, 2021.
Plot: The Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure team travels to the Snow Kingdom of Shantia after being invited by its princess, Sharon. They meet the HeartCatch PreCure team and join forces to stop snow monsters. Sharon wants to revive Shantia using meteor power. Laura receives the Snow Heart Kuru Ring from Sharon. During the coronation, Sharon freezes performers and attacks with snow creatures. The two Cure teams fight back. Coral, Papaya, and Flamingo rescue the others, and La Mer confronts Sharon. Sharon suggests combining powers, but La Mer refuses. Sharon creates a powerful snow monster, but the teams use the Snow Heart Ring and HeartCatch powers to gain Snow Crystal Tropical Style and purify Sharon with the Heart Shining Orchestra. Moved by La Mer’s singing of Shantia’s song, Sharon disappears as the ring loses power. Back home, Laura and friends sing Shantia’s song at a mall event.
Extras: The film follows an announced plan in 2021 for a Tropical-Rouge! movie, joining forces with HeartCatch PreCure! voices. Marika Matsumoto plays Sharon. The theme song is “Shantia ~ Shiawase no kuni ~,” performed by the voice actresses of both teams. The movie premiered in Japan on October 23, 2021 and opened at number 1 at the box office in its first weekend, later dropping to number 4 in the next week.
