Transplantation is a monthly, peer‑reviewed medical journal about transplantation medicine. It was established in 1963 and is published by Wolters Kluwer on behalf of The Transplantation Society and the International Liver Transplantation Society. The editor‑in‑chief is Stefan G. Tullius of Harvard University. The journal has a sister title, Transplantation Direct, an online‑only open‑access journal launched in 2015, led by editor Edward K. Geissler of the University of Regensburg. Transplantation is indexed in major databases, and its 2023 impact factor is 5.5, ranking 38th among 181 immunology journals, 14th among 292 surgery journals, and 3rd among 31 transplantation journals.
