Topcoder Open
The Topcoder Open (TCO) was an annual competition organized by Topcoder in the United States. It brought together top talents from design, software development, data science, and competitive programming.
History in short:
- It started in 2001 as the TopCoder Invitational and later became known as the Topcoder Open.
- Alongside the main event, Topcoder ran the Collegiate Challenge for college students (2001–2007) and a High School competition (2007–2010).
- From 2015, regional Topcoder events were held in various countries.
- Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020–2023 finals were held virtually rather than on-site.
- The 2023 edition was the final Topcoder Open.
What the competition looked like:

- Programming: standard single round matches and on-site contests
- Marathon: long online or multi-day on-site challenges with the same problems

- Studio/UI Design: creating and prototyping user interfaces
Notable champions:
- The event drew many famous competitors. Among them were Gennady Korotkevich (tourist) and Petr Mitrichev (Petr), who won multiple TCO titles, along with other top players from around the world.
