Togakushi is an area in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. It used to be a village in Kamiminochi District, and part of it lies in Myōkō-Togakushi Renzan National Park. The area includes Mount Takatsuma, 2353 meters high, the highest peak in the Togakushi Mountain Range and one of Japan’s 100 famous mountains, and Mount Togakushi, 1904 meters high, another well-known peak.

Togakushi has one of Japan’s largest campgrounds. The village was created on April 1, 1889, by merging Togakushi and Toyooka. On January 1, 2005, Togakushi joined with Ōoka, Toyono, and Kinasa to become part of the expanded city of Nagano.

Togakushi is also linked to the Togakure Ryu ninjutsu tradition, which some say began in the area with its founder Daisuke Nishina.

In 2015, a branch of the Kitano Museum of Art opened in Togakushi.

Access is by the Alpico Kōtsū bus from Nagano Station, which connects Togakushi, Togakushi Campground, and Togakushi Shrine. The bus follows the Asagawa Loop Line, built for the 1998 Winter Olympics to the Iizuna Kogen Ski Area. It passes Spiral, the Olympic bobsleigh and luge site, before ending in the Togakushi area.

As of 2015, the area had about 3,499 residents and a population density of around 26 people per square kilometer. The total area is roughly 132.76 square kilometers.
