Time Trax
Time Trax is a science fiction TV series from the United States and Australia that aired from January 20, 1993, to December 3, 1994. It ran for two seasons and 44 episodes. The show was created by Harve Bennett, Jeffrey M. Hayes, and Grant Rosenberg and starred Dale Midkiff as Darien Lambert and Elizabeth Alexander as SELMA. It was produced by Gary Nardino Productions, Lorimar Television (season 1), and Warner Bros. Television (seasons 1–2), and it originally aired on the Prime Time Entertainment Network.
In the story, a police officer from the year 2193 is sent two centuries back to 1993 in a parallel universe to hunt down criminals who escaped into the past. Darien Lambert is assisted by SELMA, a tiny but powerful computer in the form of a credit card that talks as a holographic woman. Lambert also carries a Micro-Pellet Projection Tube, disguised as a keyless car alarm remote, which can stun targets or send them to the future with SELMA’s help. Dr. Mordecai Sahmbi, who sent the fugitives back, repeatedly tries to kill Lambert. Lambert’s superiors in 2193 fear altering history and do not actively interfere, though Lambert often leaves messages for colleagues back in 2193.
Although the setting is Washington, D.C., the series was filmed in Queensland, Australia. Time Trax was the last series to premiere under Lorimar Productions.
Home media and games: Time Trax was released on DVD in 2012 (Season 1) and 2013 (Season 2). A Super Nintendo video game based on the series was released in 1994 in the U.S., and a Sega Genesis version was developed but never released, though a prototype surfaced in 2013 with a soundtrack by Tim Follin.
