Thomas Wade is a Canadian country singer and songwriter born on May 9, 1961, in Burford, Ontario. He was the lead singer of Thomas Wade & Wayward, whose 1996 debut album produced several hit singles, including the Top 10 songs "Zero to Sixty" and "She's Getting Serious." The band won multiple CCMA awards between 1997 and 1999 and earned three Juno Award nominations for Best Country Group or Duo. Between 1996 and 2001, Wade released many music videos, including the No. 1 hit "Lying Here with You."

Wade started a solo career in 2000 with the album Lucky 13 on Shoreline Records, spawning five singles, including the Top 10 hit "Running Away with You." After releasing a career retrospective, So Far, in 2001, he was diagnosed with oromandibular dystonia, which led him to pause recording but continue writing songs. Celine Dion later included his song "Come to Me" on her 2004 Miracle album.

Around 2010, Wade began to heal through neuroplasticity, and in 2015 he went back into the studio to record Blue Country Soul at Phase One Studios in Toronto. The album, largely co-written with Tim Taylor, returns Wade to his roots—1950s-inspired country and blues—and reunites him with longtime collaborators John Dymond, Steve O’Connor, and Gary Craig. By 2016, he was touring again as a headlining artist. A book and a documentary about his career and his battle with dystonia are in development.
