Mainpuri–Etawah line

Overview
The Mainpuri–Etawah line is a branch railway in northern India, connecting Mainpuri to Etawah Junction via Saifai in Uttar Pradesh. It runs about 55.16 km on a single broad-gauge track and is electrified with 25 kV AC overhead lines. The line supports speeds up to 100 km/h and is operated by Indian Railways, under the North Central Railway zone.

History
- The foundation stone was laid in 2004 by then-President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam at Saifai.
- The first passenger train ran on December 28, 2016, on a Agra Cantonment–Mainpuri route.
- Electrification of the line was ordered in 2019 and completed in February 2022.

Route and halts
The line runs from Etawah Junction (ETW) to Mainpuri (MNQ), stopping at seven stations:
- Etawah Junction (ETW) — connects with the Howrah–Delhi main line
- Baidpur (BPUR)
- Saifai (SIPI)
- Karhal (KAHL)
- Bhujia (BUJA)
- Kiratpur (KAPU)
- Mainpuri (MNQ) — connects with the Farrukhabad–Shikohabad line

Notes
- Etawah serves as a major junction on the Howrah–Delhi main line, while Mainpuri links to the Farrukhabad–Shikohabad route.
- The line forms part of the broader railway network in Uttar Pradesh and supports regional travel and freight within the state.
