Third Lee Kuan Yew Cabinet
The Third Lee Kuan Yew Cabinet was Singapore’s third cabinet, led by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. Formed on 16 April 1968 after the 1968 general election, it lasted until 15 September 1972, with one reshuffle in 1970. It sat in the 2nd Parliament and was a People’s Action Party government with a supermajority of 58 out of 58 seats. The head of state changed during this period: Yusof Ishak (until 1970), Yeoh Ghim Seng (1970–1971), and Benjamin Sheares (from 1971). It was preceded by the Second Lee Kuan Yew Cabinet and followed by the Fourth Lee Kuan Yew Cabinet. The cabinet also included Ministers of State and Parliamentary Secretaries.
