Thinking XXX is a 2004 HBO documentary film directed by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. The 43-minute program follows Greenfield-Sanders as he works on his book XXX: 30 Porn Star Portraits. It shows him photographing thirty porn stars in both clothed and nude settings and features conversations with the performers as well as with writers, artists, and filmmakers outside the porn industry. For the portraits, Greenfield-Sanders uses an antique view camera to produce large negatives for oversized gallery prints. The film premiered on October 29, 2004, on HBO and did not have a theatrical release, nor was it rated by the MPAA. A Houston Voice review praised the film for humanizing porn stars. The cast includes Sunrise Adams, Belladonna, Christy Canyon, Chloe, Nina Hartley, Jenna Jameson, Jasmine, Ron Jeremy, Peter North, and others.
