Iván Terrazas
Iván Martín Terrazas Magaña (born 11 November 1983 in Mexico City) is a Mexican former professional baseball outfielder. He bats left and throws right. After six years in the Atlanta Braves' minor league system, he spent 16 seasons in Mexico's top league, mostly with the Diablos Rojos del México, and retired in 2022. In the Mexican League he posted a .331 batting average with 115 home runs and 689 RBIs, and stole 61 bases.
Terrazas began his pro career with Acereros de Monclova in 2006, earning the league's Rookie of the Year award (shared with Salvador Robles). He joined the Diablos Rojos in 2008, and in his first at-bat of the season hit a home run as the Diablos went on to win the championship. He helped the Diablos win the 2008 title and the 2014 title, was team captain in 2015, and reached 1,000 career hits in 2016. He announced his retirement before the 2022 season, playing his final game on April 26, 2022—nearly 1,000 professional games and more than 1,100 hits in his career.
Internationally, Terrazas played for Mexico at the 2007 Pan American Games, winning bronze, and also appeared in the 2009 Baseball World Cup. He is the son of former Mexican League catcher Martín Terrazas. In 2024, he received the Medal of Sporting Merit from the Congress of Mexico City.
