The Woman One Longs For (German: Die Frau, nach der man sich sehnt) is a 1929 German silent drama film directed by Curtis Bernhardt. It stars Marlene Dietrich, Fritz Kortner, and Frida Richard. The story is based on a 1927 novel by Max Brod. Filmed at Babelsberg and Terra Studios, it premiered on April 29, 1929 at the Mozartsaal in Berlin. The art director was Robert Neppach. The film is also known as The Three Lovers. It was originally released as a silent film with a score by Giuseppe Becce; in 1931 a synchronized soundtrack with music by Edward Kilenyi was added. Runtime 76 minutes. Language: Silent with German intertitles.
