The University News (Vuzovski Vestnik) is a Russian newspaper about universities. It has been published since 1994 and appears twice a month in 16-page issues. Its readers include rectors, pro-rectors, teachers, students, and people who want to study at universities. Twice a year it publishes a full-colour supplement called Higher School of the 21st Century. The founder and editor-in-chief is Andrey Borisovich Sholokhov, an honored cultural worker of Russia and a respected figure in higher education. The newspaper cooperates with the Russian Union of Rectors and with the senates of rectors of Moscow, the Moscow region, and other regions. Its pages feature ideas from country leaders and heads of federal, national, and regional universities, including the rector of Moscow State University.
