The Ol' Razzle Dazzle
The Ol' Razzle Dazzle is the third studio album by Australian singer Missy Higgins. It was released on June 1, 2012, by Eleven with Warner Bros./Reprise. The album was recorded in 2011–2012 and runs 42 minutes and 48 seconds. It was co-produced by Brad Jones and Butterfly Boucher.
Higgins took a break from the music industry to focus on other interests, including university, before returning with this album. After performing at Lilith Fair in 2010, she teamed up with Butterfly Boucher to help co-produce The Ol' Razzle Dazzle.
The album was available for pre-order from April 26, 2012. Its first single, "Unashamed Desire," came out on April 23, 2012, with a music video. Other singles include "Everyone's Waiting" (July 19, 2012), "Hello Hello" (July 2012), and "Set Me On Fire" (September 2012).
Critics described the album as an eclectic, mature, and growing work for Higgins, blending country, pop, and soulful blues while showcasing her distinctive voice. It marked a reinvigorated, experimental direction from the artist.
The Ol' Razzle Dazzle debuted at number 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in the week of June 12, 2012, becoming Higgins’ third consecutive number-one album.
