The Law in These Parts is a 2011 Israeli documentary by Ra'anan Alexandrowicz. It looks at how the Israel Defense Forces run courts in the West Bank and the legal rules used to govern the occupied Palestinian territories. The film is divided into five chapters and traces the legal history of the occupation.

Alexandrowicz interviews several judges who issued orders under occupation. He makes it clear the film is about the people who wrote the laws, not the people who broke them.

The film won several awards, including Best Documentary at the 2011 Jerusalem Film Festival and the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. It also received the Special Jury Prize at Hot Docs.

Details: 101 minutes, in Hebrew, produced in Israel.
