The Last International Playboy
The Last International Playboy, also known as Frost, is a 2008 American independent film directed by Steve Clark and written by Steve Clark and Thomas Moffett. It stars Jason Behr, Monet Mazur, Krysten Ritter, Lucy Gordon, Mike Landry, India Ennenga, Lydia Hearst, and Carlos Velazquez. Filming began in May 2007. The movie premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival in January 2008 and later screened at the Genart Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, and Oxford International Film Festival. It runs 92 minutes and is in English.
Plot: In New York City, the ultimate playboy Jack Frost learns his true love Carolina is about to marry someone else. Still haunted by his mother's suicide, he falls into a cycle of whiskey and reckless behavior. His friends Ozzy and Scotch try to bring him back, and surprisingly his 11-year-old neighbor Sophie helps him move forward.
Background: This was Steve Clark's feature debut and was inspired by the life of writer George Plimpton. The film was released shortly after actress Lucy Gordon's death, and is dedicated to her memory (she played Kate). Writer Thomas Moffett also wrote Shrink, which drew attention at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.
