Deadstar 2 is the debut studio album by American rapper Smokepurpp. It was released on December 13, 2019, through Alamo Records and Interscope Records. The album features guest appearances from Lil Pump, Denzel Curry, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Skies, Moneybagg Yo, and Trippie Redd. Smokepurpp has called it his “best body of work.”

Background
Smokepurpp released his debut mixtape, Deadstar, in 2017. He announced Deadstar 2 in mid-2018, with an early track listing including Lil Pump and Gunna. The project was delayed several times and leaked online, causing further changes. A track that had leaked, titled “No Problem” and featuring Kanye West, was ultimately omitted after West stepped away from secular music.

Artwork
The album’s cover art was revealed on November 3, 2019. It’s inspired by a Kurt Cobain photograph taken about two months before Cobain’s death. The earlier Deadstar cover referenced a rock icon as well, using an image connected to GG Allin.

Track listing
Deadstar 2 runs about 42 minutes and contains 17 tracks. Notable singles released ahead of the album include “Stevie,” “Dirty Dirty” (featuring Lil Skies), “Audi II,” and “What I Please” (featuring Denzel Curry). The track “All for Me” originated from Trippie Redd’s A Love Letter to You 4 and appears here in an edited form without an XXXTentacion vocal sample.

Charts
The album reached number 86 on the Canadian Albums chart and number 137 on the US Billboard 200.
