EXCL Communications
EXCL Communications was a Spanish-language radio broadcaster founded in 1989 by Athena and Christopher Marks. Its first stations were KBRG and KLOK in San Jose, California, which it bought in 1989 from Danny and James Villanueva of Radio América, Inc. After buying Embarcadero Media in 1997, EXCL owned and operated 18 radio stations, many airing the Radio Romántica format, making it one of the largest Spanish-language media groups in the United States. From March 1996 to April 20, 2000, EXCL was a division of Latin Communications Group, which was later acquired by Entravision.
