Laura Marie Clery (born July 22, 1986) is an American actress, comedian, and social media personality. She became famous for funny sketches and characters on Facebook and YouTube, often acting out everyday life.
Early life
She was born in Downers Grove, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. She grew up there before moving to Los Angeles after high school to pursue acting.
Career
- In 2015 she started posting original material on YouTube. In 2017 she found major success on Facebook, becoming an early adopter of their revenue-sharing program.
- She directed, wrote, and starred in The Laura Clery Project, a Comedy Central Snapchat series.
- She published Idiot (2019), a memoir, which was nominated for an Audie Award in 2020. A follow-up, Idiots: Marriage, Motherhood, Milk & Mistakes, was released in 2022.
- She has millions of followers: more than 14 million on Facebook, about 3.1 million on Instagram, and around 7.6 million on TikTok (as of January 2026).
Philanthropy
Clery advocates for addiction recovery, drawing on her own struggles. She also has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Personal life
She married Stephen Hilton in 2012; they have two children, and he often appeared in her videos. The couple separated in August 2022.
