The Battle to the Weak
The Battle to the Weak is a 1925 novel by Welsh-born writer Hilda Vaughan. It was her first published book. Critics, including Christopher Newman, say it already shows many themes Vaughan would explore later, especially duty and self-sacrifice. The book was well received, with reviewers noting its strong character work despite Vaughan being a first-time author. The Western Mail said, "Wales depicted truly at last."
