Meledonus
Meledonus is a genus of flies in the Tachinidae family. It is part of the Dexiinae subfamily and the Voriini tribe. The genus was described by Aldrich in 1926, with Meledonus latipennis as the type species. Several other names have been used for this group, but they are now considered synonyms: Althanatus (Edwards & Hopwood, 1966), Athanatus (Reinhard, 1947), Dyscolomyia (Reinhard, 1959), and Phytopsis (Townsend, 1915). Meledonus is an insect in the order Diptera, i.e., the flies.
