Dowden's Luck
Dowden's Luck is a historic plantation house in Poolesville, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. Built around 1824 in the Federal style, the two-and-a-half-story main house later gained additions in 1855 and 1910. The property also includes a one-story stone slave quarters, a one-story brick smokehouse, a spring house, and the foundations of two barns from the 1824–1850 plantation era. An original terraced garden sits to the west of the house. The site covers about 8 acres at 18511 Beallsville Road (MD 109). Dowden's Luck was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 (NRHP reference number 88002143). The estate reflects Montgomery County's plantation history and African-American heritage.
