That One Night: Live in Buenos Aires
That One Night: Live in Buenos Aires is a Megadeth live album released on September 4, 2007, on CD and DVD. It captures a concert from October 9, 2005, at the Obras Sanitarias Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The show includes brief acoustic performances by Dave Mustaine and guitarist Glen Drover for fans outside the band's hotel. During the concert, Mustaine announced that Megadeth would continue after the 2005 tour.
Four songs from the performance were not included on the CD or DVD: The Scorpion, Train of Consequences, Of Mice and Men, and Sweating Bullets. The two-CD version came out on September 4, 2007 and was originally planned to be released at the same time as the DVD.
The DVD was certified Gold in the United States and Argentina and went Platinum in Canada. It was voted Best DVD in Burrn! magazine’s 2007 Reader’s Poll.
This release is the only Megadeth release to feature bassist James MacDonough, who left the band in 2006 and was replaced by James LoMenzo before the 2007 studio album United Abominations.
Critical reception was strong: AllMusic gave four stars, calling it further proof that Megadeth is a precise, tight thrash band. About.com also gave four stars, praising the crowd, the performance, and the strong audio quality. PopMatters gave it 8/10, praising the filming, the crowd energy, and the overall presentation.
