Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) is the government body that runs intermediate education in Telangana, India. Formed in 2014 after the state split from Andhra Pradesh, it is based in Hyderabad (Vidhya Bhavan, Nampally). The board sets courses and syllabi, conducts exams, and handles college affiliations under its jurisdiction, while providing leadership and support to all educational institutions it covers. The Honourable Minister of State for Secondary Education acts as the board’s chairman; the Secretary to Government, Secondary Education serves as vice-chairman, and the Chief Executive is an IAS officer who acts as the board’s secretary.

The board offers a two-year Intermediate course after the 10th standard. The Intermediate Public Examinations have been held since 1978-79, at the end of each year. The exams cover Part I English, Part II Second Language, and Part III Group subjects; a minimum of 35% is required to pass each paper. Final results are based on the combined marks of both years. The board also runs an Educational Research and Training Wing to strengthen academics, and it has the right to prescribe textbooks for the two-year course. Subject Committees design and revise the syllabus and select language and optional subjects.
