Tablet to Dr. Forel
Tablet to Dr. Auguste Forel is a letter by ʻAbdu'l-Bahá written on September 21, 1921, in reply to questions from Swiss scientist Auguste-Henri Forel. It first appeared in Persian in 1922 and was translated into English in 1976. In this tablet, ʻAbdu'l-Bahá explains the differences between the mineral, plant, animal, and human worlds, the spiritual nature of people, and proofs of God's existence. He also argues that the existence of the mind is a logical necessity and describes how the mind's faculties relate to the soul. The tablet influenced William S. Hatcher's 1994 article, A Scientific Proof of the Existence of God, which was first published in Russian in 1992.
