Mauro Guevgeozián
Mauro Guevgeozián Crespo, born on 10 May 1986 in Montevideo, Uruguay, is a forward who plays for La Luz FC. He has Armenian roots and represented the Armenia national team in 2014, earning two caps. He has said he remains Uruguayan and that his Armenian status was as a guest. He is nicknamed El Armenio by teammates and fans.
Guevgeozián began his career with CA Fénix in Uruguay, where he became a top scorer and helped the club win promotion. He spent a brief period with Pyunik Yerevan in Armenia, winning the Armenian Premier League in 2007, before returning to Fénix. He has since played for many clubs across South America: Cerrito (Uruguay), Everton de Viña del Mar (Chile), Peñarol (Uruguay), Libertad (Paraguay), Alianza Lima (Peru), Atlético Bucaramanga (Colombia), Temperley and Newell’s Old Boys (Argentina), Belgrano and Gimnasia LP (Argentina), UTC Cajamarca (Peru), Carlos A. Mannucci (Peru), and a loan to Sport Boys (Peru). In 2023 he went back to Uruguay with Fénix, and in 2024 joined La Luz FC.
