Stuart Davenport
Stuart Davenport (born 21 September 1962 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a former professional squash player from New Zealand. He reached a career-high world ranking of No. 3 in February 1986. Davenport played right-handed, used a Dunlop racquet, and was coached by Dardir El Bakary. He retired in 1987. Davenport learned squash in Christchurch and became an aggressive, attacking player after a growth spurt around age 15. As a junior, he helped New Zealand finish third at the 1980 World Junior Championship in Sweden, where he also placed third individually. He won the British under-19 title in 1980 and the British under-23 championship in 1982. In his senior career, his highlights include finishing third at the 1983 World Open in Munich, plus strong performances for New Zealand in World Team Championships. He also won the New Zealand Open in 1983 and the US Open in 1986.
