The Strawbridge-Shepherd House is a historic home at 5255 Shepherd Road in Springfield, Illinois. It was built around 1845 by Thomas Strawbridge, a saddle and harness maker. The original two-story house was Greek Revival, with features like a wide cornice trim, pilasters, and a front door with sidelights and a transom. About 1865 a rear addition created an L shape and added a kitchen. In 1883 Civil War veteran Charles M. Shepherd bought the house and added Queen Anne details, including two porches with decorative spindlework. The University of Illinois Springfield bought the property in 1970, and it is now used by the Illinois State Historical Society. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 8, 2015.
