List of bridges in Calgary

Calgary has many bridges that cross its main waterways: the Bow River, the Elbow River, and Fish Creek. The Bow River comes into the city from the west, winds around downtown, and runs south. Bridges cross the Bow from the west toward the south. The Elbow River enters in the southwest, turns north, and meets the Bow just east of downtown; bridges cross the Elbow from west to north. Fish Creek flows eastward in the southern part of the city, through Fish Creek Provincial Park, and joins the Bow River in the southeast. Quick historical note: Calgary’s first building was erected in 1872 by Alexis Cardinal at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow, at the request of Fr Constantine Scollen.
