Stranded is a 2013 Canadian-British science fiction horror film directed by Roger Christian, co-written with Christian Piers Betley. It stars Christian Slater, Brendan Fehr, Amy Matysio, and Michael Therriault.

Plot
Four astronauts are based at a lunar mining station called Ark. A meteor storm damages the base, and Ava Cameron brings back spores from the debris. The spores rapidly grow into a dangerous life form that can take the shape of a crew member. The alien begins stalking the crew, first using the likeness of John. As events unfold, John’s notes help Ava and Col. Brauchman plan how to kill the creature. The alien sabotages the air system and Dr. Krauss is killed. Ava and Brauchman decide to escape in an escape pod, hoping to leave the base to die, but the Johns alien survives the rising carbon monoxide. When a rescue ship finally arrives, Ava and Brauchman rush toward the pod. The pod lands on Earth, but the alien has already escaped and continues to evolve.

Production and release
Stranded was filmed at the Canada Saskatchewan Production Studios near Regina and produced by Minds Eye Entertainment. The film had a budget of about $1.9 million and runs 88 minutes. The movie earned about $1,733,694 from US video sales. Critical reaction was negative: Rotten Tomatoes gives it 0% based on 15 reviews, and Metacritic scores it 27 out of 100. Critics described it as derivative of Alien, tedious, dull, or forgettable, with notes that it never quite delivers on suspense or originality.
