Stop the Rain
Stop the Rain is a joint single by South Korean rappers Tablo and RM, released on May 2, 2025 through OURS CO. The mid-tempo hip-hop track pairs Tablo’s emotional lyrics with RM’s deep voice, featuring a guitar-driven beat and chipmunk-style samples. Tablo called the song “pages from our journals,” a personal piece representing both artists.
Background: After their first collaboration All Day in 2023, Tablo delayed Stop the Rain out of respect for RM’s mandatory military service. In early 2025 RM suggested releasing it, and a music video teaser appeared on April 24, 2025. The song and video were released globally on May 2.
Music video: The lo-fi animated video follows a young child dealing with mental health struggles, with black-and-white scenes of people underwater, in rain, and stuck in an emotional limbo.
Reception: On release, the song appeared on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs with about 1.5 million streams, debuting at 106. It reached No. 5 on the US iTunes chart on May 3 and climbed to No. 1 in roughly 55 countries. A lucky-draw event from May 10–13 offered three winners a limited-edition deck of Stop the Rain playing cards. The track was later listed on Spotify’s Global Impact List for South Korea in July 2025.
