Steven Sims Jr. is an American football wide receiver and punt returner from Houston, Texas. He played college football at Kansas from 2015 to 2018, then joined the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2019.

In his rookie season, Sims had 34 receptions for 310 yards and four receiving touchdowns. He also made big plays, including a 65-yard rushing touchdown against the Patriots and a 91-yard kickoff return touchdown against the Lions, and he had six catches for 64 yards with two touchdowns in Week 16 against the Giants. In 2020, he started the season with Washington but was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury in October; he returned later in the year and finished with 27 receptions, 265 yards, and one touchdown. He scored Washington’s only receiving touchdown in their Wild Card playoff loss to the Buccaneers.

After being released by Washington in 2021, Sims spent time with several teams. He briefly joined the Buffalo Bills in 2021, then the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he played in 2022 (12 games, 14 receptions for 104 yards and 13 rushing attempts for 70 yards). In 2023 he signed with the Houston Texans, spent time on the practice squad, and was promoted to the active roster in 2024. He returned a 67-yard punt return for a touchdown in the Divisional Round loss to the Baltimore Ravens that year. He re-signed with the Texans in March 2024, was released in December, and was claimed by the Ravens on December 23, 2024. He signed with the Seattle Seahawks in March 2025, but was released with an injury settlement in August 2025. In December 2025, Sims joined the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad.
