St. Francis is a small city in Minnesota, located in Anoka and Isanti counties. It sits about 16 miles north of Anoka and just north of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metro area. The city covers about 23.7 square miles, mostly land with a little water. As of 2020, around 8,142 people lived there. The main roads are Minnesota State Highway 47 and Ambassador Boulevard. The ZIP code is 55070 and the area code is 763. The mayor is Joe Muehlbauer.

St. Francis was named after Francis of Assisi. People began settling here in the 1850s. The first dam, a grist mill, and the Riverside Hotel were built around 1855. Early businesses included a general store and a large milling mill. The town was incorporated in 1962 and became a statutory city in 1974. Pioneer Days started in 1964.

Today the city is near several towns, including Bethel, East Bethel, Oak Grove, Nowthen, Elk River, Zimmerman, Crown, and Isanti, and Lake George is nearby. It is about 16 miles north of Anoka. In 2010, the population was about 7,218 with a median age of about 31.5 years. The community is mostly White, with a mix of other races, and many families live here.
