The Southern League Manager of the Year Award is given every year to the best regular-season manager in Minor League Baseball’s Southern League. Voters include league managers, and in the past have also included broadcasters, executives, and media members. The league started in 1964, but the award began in 1972. After the 2020 season was canceled, the league was called the Double-A South in 2021 and returned to the Southern League name in 2022.

Two managers have won the award twice: John Shoemaker (2001 and 2006) and Andy Green (2013 and 2014). The most wins by a single manager is two. The current most recent winner is Joe Ayrault in 2025.

The Jacksonville Suns have produced the most winners with seven. Other teams with multiple winners include the Birmingham Barons and Orlando Cubs (five each); the Chattanooga Lookouts, Greenville Braves, Huntsville Stars, Knoxville Smokies, and Mobile BayBears (four each); the Biloxi Shuckers, Columbus Astros, Jackson Generals, and Montgomery Biscuits (three each); the Mississippi Braves (two); and the Montgomery Rebels, Nashville Sounds, Pensacola Blue Wahoos, Rocket City Trash Pandas, and Savannah Braves (one each).

Seven winners have come from the Atlanta Braves organization, the most of any MLB organization. This is followed by the Chicago White Sox organization (six), the Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Twins organizations (five each), the Chicago Cubs organization (four), and several other organizations with three, two, or one winner.
