South Africa women's national rugby union team
South Africa's women's national rugby union team, nicknamed the Springbok Women, is governed by the South African Rugby Union. Head coach Swys de Bruin and captain Nolusindiso Booi lead the team, with Booi also holding the most caps at 55.
The Springbok Women played their first Test in 2004, a 5-8 loss to Wales in Port Elizabeth on May 29. Their biggest win came in 2022, a 128-3 victory over Namibia in Cape Town, while their heaviest defeat was 101-0 to England in East Molesey in 2005.
They have appeared in five Women's Rugby World Cups since 2006, with their best result a quarter-final appearance in 2025. They have won the Rugby Africa Women's Cup in 2019 and 2022.
World Rugby rankings have seen them reach 10th (their current and best position as of September 2025), with a low of 24th in 2004.
In August 2025, South Africa named a 32-player squad for the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup in England.
