South Africa Now
South Africa Now was an American public TV news show about South Africa during Apartheid. It was made by Globalvision. By 1990, the program was shown on about 80 PBS stations and also appeared on CNN's World Report, the Vision Network, and public broadcasters in several countries: Canada (CBC Newsworld), Japan (NHK), Jamaica (JBC), the Bahamas (ZNS), Barbados (CBC), Mozambique (Televisão de Moçambique), and Zimbabwe (ZNBC TV and ZBC TV). In 1991, it won a George Polk Award for defying censors and reporting on the violence and turbulence facing South Africa's black majority.
