Chihara Kyōdai, or the Chihara Brothers, is a Japanese comedy duo formed by real brothers Chihara Seiji and Chihara Junior. Seiji handles the tsukkomi (straight man) role and Junior is the boke (funny man). They are part of Yoshimoto Kogyo and mainly work in Tokyo and Osaka, appearing in films and on television. The duo formed in June 1989 when Seiji invited Junior—who had dropped out of high school—to join and train at Yoshimoto’s NSC in Osaka. They began official activities in 1990. This article covers media appearances by the duo when they appear together.
