Sound Quality was a radio program on ABC Radio National from 1995 to 2015. It featured new music, mainly electronica, but with other genres as well. The show was produced and presented by Tim Ritchie. Ritchie began his radio career in 1976 when, as a schoolboy, he phoned ABC's youth station Double J to critique a presenter; the host challenged him to do the show the next day if he could do better, and he did. He balanced university studies with work on Double J and later Triple J, including a period in New York, before moving to Radio National. He started Sound Quality in 1995. Past programs from 1999 onward are still available on the ABC website.
