The Sony Xperia X is a mid-range Android smartphone released by Sony in 2016. Unveiled at MWC, it started Sony’s Xperia X line, replacing the older Xperia Z-series. It features a 5.0-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 650 processor with 3 GB of RAM, and 32 or 64 GB of storage (expandable via microSD up to 200 GB). The non-removable 2620 mAh battery powers the device. The rear camera is 23 MP with Exmor RS sensor and fast autofocus, while the front camera is 13 MP. It includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and, on most models, a fingerprint sensor. It shipped with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and was later upgraded to Android 7.1 Nougat and Android 8.0 Oreo; Sailfish OS was also released as a community port. There were single-SIM and dual-SIM variants, with regional release dates throughout 2016. The Xperia X was followed by the Xperia XZS.
