Somerset Island, Bermuda
Somerset Island is one of Bermuda's main islands, located in the far west of the territory. It covers about 2.84 square kilometres and makes up roughly half of Sandys Parish. It is the largest island in a chain that runs along the northwestern coast of the Great Sound. The village of Somerset lies in the island’s northern part. The island is connected by bridges to Boaz Island to the northeast and to the Bermudian mainland to the south (the Somerset Bridge is a historic landmark). The coast features several bays, including Mangrove Bay to the northeast and Ely's Harbour, a natural harbour, to the southwest. Other notable places include Daniel's Head at the western tip near Daniel's Island and Scaur Hill Fort.
