De Natura Fossilium
De Natura Fossilium is a science book by Georg Bauer, also known as Georgius Agricola. It was first published in 1546. It was the first modern attempt to organize and classify minerals, rocks, and sediments since Pliny’s Natural History. Along with Agricola’s other works, especially De Re Metallica, it helped establish an early, systematic approach to mineralogy, mining, and geology.
