Some People Change is a country song performed by Montgomery Gentry. It was released on August 29, 2006 as the lead single from their album of the same name. The song was written by Neil Thrasher, Jason Sellers and Michael Dulaney. Montgomery Gentry’s version follows earlier recordings by Kenny Chesney in 2004 and George Canyon in 2006. It reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and number 57 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song’s message is about people changing their ways. In the first verse, a man who holds racist beliefs from his father is moved to change by the grace of God. The second verse tells of a woman who stops drinking after realizing who she is letting down. A gospel choir joins in the third verse.

In Montgomery Gentry’s recording, Eddie Montgomery sings the verses, Troy Gentry handles the chorus and bridge, and a choir joins on the last chorus. The track is in the key of D major with a main chord pattern of D and G, and its vocal range spans from A3 to A5.

The music video, directed by Trey Fanjoy, starts with the band at an outdoor church festival and then follows scenes of transformation: a young neo-Nazi burns his Ku Klux Klan uniform, a woman quits drinking for her daughter, and the duo performs as a gospel choir appears in the final chorus.
