SOLJA, short for the Somaliland Journalists Association (Somali: Ururka Suxufiyiinta Somaliland), is a nonprofit group for journalists in Somaliland. Based in Hargeisa, it serves the Somaliland media community. Founded in June 2003, SOLJA aims to promote a free, independent press and protect journalists’ rights. The current leaders are Chairman Mohamed Abdi Jama Xuuto and General Secretary Yahya Mohamed Abdi Xanas.
