“Slide” is a song by Scottish pop band The Big Dish from their 1986 debut album, Swimmer. It was written by Steven Lindsay and produced by Ian Ritchie. The single was released on 18 August 1986, with a 5:06 album version, a 3:58 single edit, and an extended 5:58 version.

The original release did not reach the UK Top 100, peaking at 147. A 1987 reissue fared better, reaching No. 86 in the UK charts. The music video was directed by Larry Williams and got light rotation on MTV.

Critics tended to praise the song’s polished, radio-friendly pop. Sounds named it the single of the week, lauding its subtle, hook-filled Britpop production.
