Patrick Johnson (wide receiver)
Patrick Jevon Johnson (born August 10, 1976) is a former American football wide receiver who played in the NFL and CFL. He grew up in Gainesville, Georgia, and went to Redlands High School in California, where he excelled in football and track.
He attended the University of Oregon from 1994 to 1997, starring in both football and track. He earned All-Pac-10 honors and was one of the nation’s top sprinters, helping Oregon in bowl games and setting early receiving records as a freshman.
Johnson was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 1998 (second round, 42nd overall). He won a Super Bowl with the Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV and played for Baltimore from 1998–2001, then for the Jaguars (2002), Redskins (2003), and Bengals (2004) before returning to the Ravens (2004–2005). He finished his NFL career with 84 receptions, 1,286 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns. In 2007, he played in the Canadian Football League for Edmonton and Toronto.
Off the field, Johnson has been active in charity work and founded the Patrick Johnson Foundation in 2003. He has also worked as a writer and consultant and later became involved in arena and flag football ventures as a leader and organizer.
