Sivagyana Munivar was a Saivite sage and scholar from Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, who lived around the 18th century. He spoke Tamil and Sanskrit and was born with the name Mukkalaalingar. He translated many Sanskrit works into Tamil and was also known as Sri Madhava Sivagyana Munivar. His major work is Sivagnana Mapadiam, a detailed interpretation of Sivagnanabodham by the 13th‑century scholar Meikandadevar. He wrote a revised and expanded commentary on Nannul, updating the earlier work of Shankara Namachivayar. He is also remembered for Ilakkana Vilakka Sooravali, a critical rebuttal of Tiruvarur Vaidhyanatha Desikar's Ilakkana Vilakkam — perhaps the only Tamil work that refutes another significant treatise in its entirety.
