À chacun son histoire
À chacun son histoire is Natasha St-Pier’s second studio album and her first international release. It came out in Canada on 11 April 2000 and was released in France and Belgium in 2001. The European edition adds the song Je n'ai que mon âme, with which St-Pier represented France in the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest.
The album is pop music, mainly in French, and features a mix of songs written by Italian and French writers, including collaborators like Luc Plamondon and Piero Cassano. The Canadian version has 11 tracks, while the French/European edition has 12 tracks, with some differences between releases.
À chacun son histoire charted in several countries: it reached #23 in Belgium (Wallonia), #15 in Canada (ADISQ), and #37 in France. It was certified Gold in France (about 100,000 copies sold).
The album was released by Sony Music France and Columbia, with Guy Cloutier Communications involved in the French side. It sits in Natasha St-Pier’s discography after Emergence (1996) and helped establish her as an international artist.
